I understand we are to fill the barrel tomorrow (4/25/21). I have my 5 gallons ready… Where and when? I have received no emails with information yet, some kind of issue with my email.
I can be reached at rodgers_clark@hotmail.com. An alternate is rodgers_clark@icloud.com.
Clay – did you update based on my comment? or another discussion?
Sorry for the rambling confusing wording, but I was trying to say your original post (2020 version) was better in my opinion. And I’d vote to keep that … vs. the 2019 with all chocolate malt had a bit more malt bitterness/harshness.
but either will be ok. whatever the group wants to do.
Yep, updated based on your comment LOL. So the original recipe at the bottom of the page is the one you would prefer. If everyone else agrees, I say lock it in so Keith can let BrewerDude know the kit requirements.
Recipe looks good. FYI – EKG, and English hops in general are hard to come by now, and almost certainly will be from the 2019 harvest. We may want to have a backup selection just in case.
Last year we moved some of the Chocolate malt to pale chocolate (I believe it was 1lb chocolate and zero pale), I think last year’s version was very good and I am fine brewing this same recipe again

I also thought 2020 version was better than 2019. Nice and chocolatey.

I was able to order EKG from atlantic brew supply. Couldn’t tell you which harvest it’s from, but it is available.
Has there been any discussion about Brewer Dude setting up the kits for this? FWIW, last yearβs recipe was wonderful. Wish I had some left to share!
Once we have a recipe, I will forward it to Brewer Dude. I don’t have you on the list for the barrel, but there is still room if you want in.
I liked the 2019 recipe as well but Iβm open to
A new one as well

That recipe sounds good to me
